I started on the clarinet in fourth grade, but
halfway through the year I switched to oboe and have been playing it
since. I knew I wanted to play oboe because in third grade my teacher
brought hers in for “show and tell” and I fell in love with the sound.
During my middle school years I was a member of the
middle school Honors Band, three years on oboe, and one on clarinet just
to mix things up a bit. I have also participated in solo fest since fifth
grade, both on oboe and on clarinet. Before moving to Honeoye Falls, I was
also a member of my previous high school’s symphony orchestra.

What you most enjoy, or find especially
fulfilling, about being a part of Community Band:
|
I enjoy being a part of a group that loves music as
much as I do. It’s a lot of fun to just go and play, and have a good time.
|
|
Of the music we play, is there a type or piece
that is your favorite: |
I’m usually pretty open, but I like playing the more
challenging pieces the best.
