I started on piano at age 7, started clarinet around
age 12. Switched to french horn, played in band (hated marching and
playing at the same time). Went to All State for orchestra. Took summer
lessons on flute, tuba, drums. Stopped horn when no longer had access to
instrument. Bill Percival recruited me and found a horn for me (I had
played in community band summers in high school). When I was discouraged
with that horn, the music director at church acquired a horn for church
and gave me life use.
