(such as: your start, experience, education,

I started playing the clarinet in 6th
grade and switched to bass clarinet in 7th grade. I played
through high school and college (but joined the color guard/attempted to
play tenor sax for marching). I also took bagpipe lessons for several
semesters in college. I always used school-owned instruments and thought
my music-playing days were over after college. However, my 2-year old
son’s appreciation of classical music inspired me to buy a used bass
clarinet on eBay last Spring and I joined HFCCB soon after that. He calls
it “Mommy’s baseball” and doesn’t actually want me to play it. He seems
to favor my husband’s drum set in the basement.

What you most enjoy, or find especially
fulfilling, about being a part of Community Band: |
I love being part of the HFL community and listening
to so many talented and dedicated musicians. I feel a bit rusty after not
having played for 7 years, but love being in the band setting again. |
|
Of the music we play, is there a type or piece
that is your favorite: |
I really like Andrew Lloyd Webber and I’m excited for
the Christmas music. |
