I started playing the flute in 4th grade
and started learning guitar the year after. In middle school I taught
myself bass guitar and played with the jazz ensembles throughout high
school. I always wanted to play sax, so I sold the bass when I got to
college (so they wouldn’t ask me to play bass anymore!) and took up the
tenor sax. I majored in music (flute) at Onondaga Community College and
then transferred to SUC Fredonia for Music Therapy. Although I took all
the therapy classes I ended up with a degree in Psychology and now have a
MA in Counseling. While living in Fredericksburg, VA I got involved with
the Woodbridge Flute Choir and expanded my flute collection to include an
alto, bass and Eb flute. I auditioned and was chosen to play with the
Professional Flute Choir, at the National Flute Convention, held in
Washington, DC in August of 2002.
